What to do if your PS5 got wet
Critical: If your PS5 just got wet, do NOT power it on — that’s how working consoles become dead consoles. Unplug it, don’t shake it, and bring it to us immediately. The faster we open and clean it, the better your odds. Here are the warning signs and what they mean:
Drink spilled on top
Soda, beer, juice — sugary liquids are the worst. Even a small splash can wick into the console through the vents. Power off, unplug, bring in same-day. Sugar dries into corrosive crust.
Basement flood / leak
Console sat in standing water, even briefly. Internal corrosion already started. Don’t wait — chemistry doesn’t pause. Bring in for ultrasonic cleaning before the motherboard is unsalvageable.
Got rained on / drink while moving
Carrying the console outside, a downpour hit, or someone bumped your drink. Even brief exposure means moisture inside. Diagnostic and clean before you try to power on.
Powers on but acts weird
Random shutdowns, USB ports not working, audio issues — after the spill. Corrosion has set in on specific traces. We can isolate and fix damaged sections.
Won’t power on at all
Console fully dead after exposure. PSU may have shorted (often the first to fail) or a key voltage rail is corroded. Sometimes recoverable with cleaning + PSU swap.
