Powers on, immediately off
Console boots for 2-3 seconds then dies. Voltage rail failure or short on the motherboard. Diagnostic with multimeter pinpoints the bad component.
Power surge / outage damage
Console worked, then power went out, now dead. PSU or onboard voltage regulator damaged from the surge. Often repairable at component level.
Random restarts during gameplay
