iPhone back
glass cracked?
$99 here. $549 Apple.

Apple charges insulting prices for back glass replacement because they have to swap the entire device — they can’t separate the glass from the frame. We use specialized laser de-bonding to remove just the glass and replace it. Same color, same finish, fraction of the cost.

Why The Price Gap?

Apple replaces the whole phone. We replace just the glass.

Starting with iPhone 12, Apple sealed the back glass to the chassis with industrial adhesive. Their official repair process: take out everything, throw away the chassis, put your motherboard in a brand-new device. We use laser de-bonding to remove just the glass — keeping your original frame, battery, screen, everything.

🔥

Laser de-bonding

Specialized 1064nm laser softens the adhesive between glass and chassis without damaging internal components. Lets us peel the broken glass off cleanly.

🎨

Color-matched glass

Original Apple finish for every model — Natural Titanium, Black Titanium, Pacific Blue, Sierra Blue, Pink, all of them. Indistinguishable from factory glass.

🔍

MagSafe alignment preserved

The wireless charging coil and MagSafe magnet ring sit between the glass and chassis. We protect both during the swap so MagSafe accessories still snap on perfectly.

📷

Camera lens preserved

Camera glass is integrated with the back. We work around it carefully — your camera lenses stay original. If a lens is also cracked, we replace it for an additional small fee.

⚙️

Internal seal restored

We reapply the industrial adhesive that holds the glass to the chassis. This restores most of the IP68 seal — though no aftermarket repair fully restores factory water resistance.

⏱️

2-3 hours typical

Glass back replacement is more involved than screen — there’s adhesive curing time. Most repairs are done in 2-3 hours. Drop off in the morning, pick up in the afternoon.

Real Prices

Three price tiers based on glass complexity.

Newer models have larger camera modules and more delicate adhesive — slightly more expensive parts. We pass the actual cost through. Here’s the full breakdown.

Pourquoi BuyCellFix

One of the few shops that even attempts this.

🔬

Laser equipment most shops don’t have

The 1064nm de-bonding laser costs ~$8,000 and requires training. Many repair shops won’t do back glass at all. We have the tool, the technique, and 4+ years of experience.

💸

$400+ savings vs Apple

Apple’s “back glass repair” is a euphemism for “buy a new device, transfer your data.” We do actual repair. Same result, fraction of the cost.

🛡️

Garantie 30 jours

If the new glass cracks again from manufacturing defect (not from a new drop), bring it back. We replace it free within 30 days.

🎨

Color-perfect match

We stock OEM-grade glass in every iPhone color: Natural Titanium, Pacific Blue, Sierra Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, Purple, etc. Phone looks brand-new.

Honest about MagSafe

Some shops claim “100% factory MagSafe” after back glass repair. That’s marketing. Reality: MagSafe still works, just may align slightly differently. We’re upfront about it.

Questions courantes

iPhone back glass replacement, answered.

Why does Apple charge $549 for back glass when you charge $99-$149?
Apple’s official “back glass repair” isn’t actually a repair — they swap your entire device for a new one. From their perspective, it’s faster and more profitable than removing the bonded glass. Independent shops with laser de-bonding equipment can remove just the glass without replacing the chassis. Same end result, ~70% lower cost.
Is back glass replacement covered by AppleCare+?
Yes — AppleCare+ covers accidental damage with a service fee of $99 for screens and other damage (including back glass on newer iPhones). If you have AppleCare+ active, that’s competitive with our pricing. Without AppleCare+, Apple’s out-of-warranty back glass cost is $449-$599. Most iPhones don’t have active AppleCare+ — that’s where we save you the most.
Will MagSafe still work after the back glass is replaced?
Yes — MagSafe magnets and the wireless charging coil sit between the glass and the chassis. We carefully preserve both during the swap. Some customers notice slightly different magnet alignment after repair (about 1mm off in some cases), but MagSafe accessories snap on, wireless charging works, and Find My remains functional.
Will my iPhone still be water-resistant?
Mostly. We re-apply the industrial adhesive that seals the back glass to the chassis, which restores most of the IP68 water resistance. However, no aftermarket repair fully matches Apple’s factory IP68 rating — submerging the phone after any back glass repair (Apple’s or ours) is not recommended. Splash resistance is preserved.
How long does back glass replacement take?
2-3 hours typical. The repair itself is straightforward, but the replacement adhesive needs curing time before the phone can be safely handled. Drop off in the morning, pick up in the afternoon. We don’t recommend “while you wait” because rushing the adhesive cure leads to gaps.
What if my camera glass is also cracked?
Camera lens glass is technically separate from the main back glass. If you only cracked the camera lenses (without main back glass damage), it’s a $40-$80 repair depending on the model. If both are cracked, we replace both for $30-$50 above the back glass price. Free diagnostic — bring it in.
