iPhone got
wet?
Act fast.

Time matters more than money with water damage. Corrosion starts inside the phone within hours. Bring it to us within 48 hours and we can usually save it — even if it powered off, even if it sat in rice all night, even if it’s already showing damage.

⚠️
First 48 hours · Critical window
Do this · Don’t do that
1

Power off immediately

Even if it still works. Active circuits + water = short circuits + permanent corrosion.

2

Don’t shake or charge it

Shaking spreads water inside. Charging while wet creates electrical shorts that fry the logic board.

3

Bring it to us within 48 hours

Sooner = better. Corrosion starts within hours and gets worse the longer water sits inside.

Don’t put it in rice

Rice doesn’t absorb water from inside the phone. It just delays you bringing it to a real repair shop.

Ce que nous réparons

Every kind of liquid damage.

Pool, ocean, toilet, coffee, beer, soup, washing machine — we’ve seen every scenario. Each one needs a slightly different cleaning protocol, but the playbook is the same: open it up, clean it, repair what’s broken.

🌊

Pool, ocean, lake

Saltwater and chlorinated water are far more corrosive than tap water. Salt crystallizes on contacts. We have specific cleaning solutions for both.

🚽

Toilet drops

Most common iPhone water damage scenario. Despite the gross factor, toilet water actually causes less corrosion than salt water — recovery rate is high.

Coffee, juice, beer, wine

Sugary or acidic liquids leave sticky residue that conducts electricity. Buttons stick, ports fail, charging refuses. We dissolve and clean.

🌧️

Rain, snow, sweat

Smaller amounts but harder to detect. Often the iPhone seems fine until weeks later when the speaker dies or charging port stops working.

🧼

Washing machine cycle

Phone in a pocket, into the wash. The worst-case scenario — water + heat + agitation. Recovery depends on how long it ran. Bring it ASAP.

💧

Sealed but stopped working

iPhone IP68 rated — should survive water in theory. But seals degrade with age. If your “water-resistant” iPhone died after a splash, we can help.

Repair Tiers

Three levels of repair. Honest pricing.

We diagnose first, then quote. About 60% of water-damaged iPhones only need Tier 1 cleaning. The rest need component-level work — but we’re transparent about what tier you’re in before any work starts.

Tier 1 · Cleaning
Emergency Cleaning
Phone got wet but still works, or recently failed. No visible corrosion yet.
$49
Diagnostic + cleaning only
  • Full disassembly + ultrasonic cleaning
  • Drying chamber treatment
  • Reassembly + functionality test
  • Free diagnostic if cleaning isn’t enough
Same-day · 2-4 hours typical
Tier 3 · Board work
Réparation de la carte logique
Severe damage — phone is dead, won’t charge, won’t boot, or has major corrosion across the logic board.
$100+
Component-level micro-soldering
  • Everything in Tier 1 + Tier 2
  • Micro-soldering on damaged ICs
  • Replacement of failed components
  • Quote provided after diagnostic
3-7 business days

Apple does not offer water damage repair — they replace the entire device for $399-$799 depending on model. We can usually save the phone for a fraction of that. Apple’s official guidance on liquid-damaged iPhones →

Pourquoi BuyCellFix

Component-level expertise.
Not just plug-and-pray.

🔬

Microscope micro-soldering

Most repair shops won’t touch board-level water damage. We do — with binocular microscopes and component-level soldering tools. We can replace individual chips Apple won’t even attempt.

🧪

Proper ultrasonic cleaning

Not just a wipe-down. We disassemble the phone fully and use ultrasonic baths with isopropyl alcohol. Removes water, salt, and corrosive residue that’s invisible to the naked eye.

⏱️

Same-day diagnostic

Bring the iPhone in, we open it, we tell you the tier within hours. No “leave it for two weeks while we figure it out.” Walk in before noon, get a real quote by end of day.

💸

No-fix-no-charge*

If we can’t restore basic function on a Tier 1 cleaning, we don’t charge. Tier 2 and 3 quoted upfront before work begins. Honest answer beats false hope.

🛡️

Garantie 30 jours

If your phone fails again from the same root cause within 30 days, bring it back. We diagnose at no cost and either refund or re-repair depending on what failed.

Questions courantes

iPhone water damage, answered.

My iPhone got wet but still seems to work — should I bring it in?
Yes, immediately. Water inside an iPhone causes corrosion that progresses for days or weeks after the initial event. The phone may seem fine for now, but the speaker, charging port, microphone, or camera could fail later. Tier 1 emergency cleaning ($49) prevents this. Better to spend $49 now than $200+ in 3 weeks.
I left my iPhone in rice overnight — is it salvageable?
Possibly, but rice didn’t help. Rice can’t pull water out of a sealed device — it just sits next to it. The water inside has been doing damage all night. Bring it in for diagnostic. We’ll tell you honestly what tier of repair it needs (or if it’s beyond repair).
Vais-je perdre mes photos et mes données ?
Usually no. The storage chip is one of the most resilient components on the logic board. Even severely water-damaged iPhones often keep their data intact. Our repair process is non-destructive to data — we only touch the components needed to fix the issue. We always recommend iCloud backup as a safety net.
My iPhone is supposed to be water-resistant — why did it fail?
Apple’s IP68 rating is a factory-fresh spec. Once an iPhone has been opened (for screen, battery, or any repair), the seals are no longer waterproof. Plus seals degrade with age — gaskets break down, adhesive loosens, drops crack the seal microscopically. After 2-3 years, most iPhones are no longer water-resistant in practice.
How can I tell what tier my iPhone needs?
You can’t from outside the device. We need to open it and inspect with a microscope to see the actual corrosion level. That diagnostic is included in the Tier 1 cleaning price — so even if you “only” need Tier 1 ($49), we still inspect everything. If we discover deeper damage, we tell you the upgrade quote before doing any extra work.
Does Apple repair water damage?
No. Apple does not perform water damage repairs — they only offer to replace the entire device, called an “Out of Warranty Service” replacement. That costs $399-$799 depending on the model. AppleCare+ covers some accidental water damage with a $99-$129 service fee, but only if you have AppleCare+ active. We can usually save your iPhone for $49-$300, often with your data intact.
